mahon... I'm not being 100% serious about using a hacked up ipod ;-)

Actually, an iPod would be a fine source of serial data, though a
little slow (a Disk ]['s bit rate is 250kHz) and pretty hard to
control (for seeks).  ;-)

Even more fun would be a complete Apple II emulator for the iPod...
