a few things come to mind for "nice software":

1)hi-res fonts for 40X24 text screen, also 80X24 text screen


Those exist.  Maybe you want text drawing software for the
SHR screen...


2)HPLOT, XDRAW etc basic commands to use increased resolution


That would be nice support.  ;-)


"nice hardware":
1)hardware based hi-res fonts for text screens
2)sprite drawing hardware + collision detection
3)hardware based memory cut/copy/paste


Of course, the VOC hardware is what it is, and will remain so.
