Of course, you are correct. I meant that after ring detection, the BBS
machine initiates the ATA and then waits for carrier signal. Sorry.
I also have the other reversed. Initiate ATO (online) then the ATA to
complete the signal. Been quite a while since I used any modem setup,
and when I did a null-modem connection here, those commands were nearly
automatic having been setup previously in my term programs.
