Brad, from one pack rat to another, I offer this koan:
Q: "How do you eat an elephant?"
A: "One bite at a time."
Don't fall victim to the "have to to all of task 1 before starting
task 2" syndrome, or task 2 will never be started.
Begin by starting to do _some_ scanning/archiving and making it
available, then do some more, etc., etc. As you do it, index what
you are doing.
Eventually, you'll have a great deal archived and indexed--and
all along the way, you'll have a sense of accomplishment instead
of a feeling of dreading an impossible task!
