What I was considering was these modern, very small PC PSUs - taking one of those, making the IIgs PSU case into a sled which holds a nice modern PSU with greater capacity (and better wiring) and a fan with a duct designed to suck air from the computer side of things and out the top, or side.

I think most of my IIgs problems are related to the PSU overheating, rather than components. It really wasn't well designed - I reckon a //e cased IIgs would have a better time of it, more room.
