: RAMFACTOR... a RAMWORKS card would look funny in a standard slot, and might
: even smoke a little.

Would be difficult to fit a 60 pin card edge in a 50 pin socket.
RamWorks cards are AUX slot cards.

: Not that I haven't seen people try doing that back in the day.

I've done some things like that, but not nearly so severe. :o)

: Funny but pathetic service story #1
:
: Fried GS motherboard... user upgraded from a //e to a GS, neglected to tell
: us he had an large investment in memory cards, peripherals (no cards in case
: when he brought unit it - we weren't original distributor either). We asked
: him what he had and he said not to worry, "knew what he was doing, yada
: yada..." He came back 2 hours later with his upgraded //e case with an
: original RamWorks board in the GS memory slot... "I thought that's where it
: went...." Amazingly, the AE card survived - at least initially.

Again, as above, Impossible to fit a 60 pin card edge into
a 44 pin slot. How did he get it in there???
