Re: Super Serial Support in Emulator (How to use it???)

Hello Oliver,
Yes, I have tried it with AppleWin (which looks like an excellent
emulator) but the program could not find a Serial card in any slot.
So far I have had the best results with the one from Apple Oasis.
I just heard about another called Kegs32 which I will probably try
in the next couple of evenings.

I haven't given up on this emulator and am going to try it on another
PC. I've also disabled the FIFO buffers for the Serial port too.

The conversion from a 25pin to 9pin is the easy part. I have those
pinouts on hand. I wanted to confirm that the Serial port on the
SuperSerial card did in fact have the same pinout as a 25pin port
that the PC uses. In the past I have seen some systems with non-standard
pin configurations. If that were the case here I might have been chasing
a problem in the emulation instead of looking at the cable pinouts.
I was under the impression that one of the jumper blocks on the SuperSerial
board changes some of the pin signals. If that is not the case then perhaps
someone can confirm that. Otherwise a link to some docs that show the pin
signals in each mode would help. I believe that I have the card set for Modem
mode.
