Yes, I know - since I maintained it for several years. No, it's not
possible - else it would possibly been already done ;-)
Have you already tried your software with AppleWin at all?

As I already mentioned most programs use the SSC on the hardware
level, not on the firmware level, so it's hard for me to imagine that
an emulator doesn't emulate the hardware.

I have to admit that I don't understand your trouble at all. Both 25
and 9 pin serial port are popular physical layouts so it is simple to
find that piece of info.
