First first Apple machine was a //e, bought at the very end of 1984.
It's still in my house. It's rarely plugged in, but I do still use it
from time to time largely because I haven't found any emulator that
really gives me the Ultima III experience I remember.
Apple //e, eventually upgraded to "enhanced" status.
Slot 1: AE Serial Pro
Slot 2: Super Serial Card
Slot 3: AE Transwarp
Slot 4: Apple Mouse
Slot 6: Disk ][
Slot 7: Unidisk 3.5
AUX: Extended 80 column card
The Transwarp is why none of the emulators feel right.
Always wanted a Mockingboard to fill that last slot.
The original config had just two cards: the Disk ][ with a single drive
on it, and a parallel card in slot 1 connected to an Epson printer. For
a while I had a Hayes-branded, but not Hayes-compatible, 300bps internal
modem in slot 2.
