Why no Buy It Now? If you have some idea of what an item is worth, it can
potentially save everyone involved lots of time. Bidders still have the
option to start at a lower bid, and as long as you have no reserve, the Buy
It Now option goes away as soon as the first bid is received.
(I sold an MSI K7D Master recently...gave it a BIN price of $140, which was
something like 15-20% off the going rate for new boards. The opening bid
was $10, and it ended up getting bid up to just over the BIN price. It
could've sold in hours instead of days.)
