I just bought one of these cards ($10 on eBay with external drive) and
I'm just starting to research what it can do. I haven't tried it out
yet but I didn't know about the eject button problem. I'll have to
check that out.

My UDC card came with an external 3.5" drive from "Cutting Edge, Inc."
that looks a lot like a PC drive in an external case.

This card in it's day was kind of neat. It sort of gave the IIe a
smartport similar to the one on the IIgs in so far as supporting both
3.5" drives and 5.25" drives on the same card. The support for the
Mac 400KB and 800KB drives was a bonus. AFAIK the UDC card didn't
work well in the IIgs since there was no GSOS driver for it.
Apparently one of the last revisions of this card dropped support for
the Unidisk 3.5 drive. I have no idea why they did this.
