Besides having the volume number in the sector address fields (which are not
present on .dsk image files) it is also supposed to be in byte $06 of the VTOC
(Volume Table Of Contents). It should be trivial for a emulator to check this
byte on a .dsk image (no need to put the volume number in the file name).
Of course this is only true if the image is DOS 3.3 and not protected.
By the way, FishWings uses that byte to determine the volume number.
