Re: Null Modem GS and PC



I have ruined many a cable (two today!) trying to do what you suggested. The
problem is that I cannot find a definite source for which colored wire
corresponds to which pin. Every site says something different. I had an
"Asynchronous Modem Cable" that I cut in half and it only had 6 wires! 8
pins...6 wires. Go figure. I had a PC modem cable, lopped of the DB25 end
and proceded to twist the "correct" wires together. Needless to say, it
didn't work. Now I'll probably make my own from scratch. www.mouser.com
seems to have the parts I need, though there are so many different kinds.
Also, I have been using ColorTerm on the gs. Is that any good? It only
allows for x-modem transfers. What's the difference between all those
protocols anyway?
