Re: ROM 01 GS diskless boot to Appleshare. YES IT WORKS!!!
Well, I finally made it thanks to this tutorial:
http://www.mandrake.demon.co.uk/Apple/ltalk/iigs_rb.html
What the tutorial seems to forget is the fact you have to install GS/OS
6.0.1 disk #7, which is actually a Mac floppy with Apple II support. Without
it, the GS won't boot off the remote server.
Now my Rom 01 IIGS boots off my PowerMac 6200 with Appleshare 3.0.3 !
The only thing is... once you've turned the IIGS off, I mean once you have
physically switched it off, it looses its Control Panel setup and OS panel
prefs (like monitor, general, etc.) I have to manually set the boot slot to
Appletalk every time I turn it on and then go back in the Control Panel from
the Apple menu and do my personal settings again. Is this normal ?
Bart, I don't think I have understood well all of your advice but I'll read
it more carefully later ;o) BTW, I already own a Asante EtherPrint interface
so the EN/SE you were telling me about might be useless, actually.
