Recently I acquired a Mac G3 that I would like to use as a IIgs
peripheral. It is a 266Mhz, has 64M of ram, a 4 G HD, CDrom and a disk
that like my 800k ProDOS boot disk, and a built in ethernet port and a
USB card has been added to one of the slots. THe video card is a Mach
64 idf that makes any difference at all.
My goal is to use this computer to aid my IIgs, but also to do other
tasks I desire. (The IIgs stuff takes precidence because I actually
have a Windows box for otehr stuff.) I want to use Appletalk to
transfer files to/from the internet to the IIgs. I want to create disk
images. I want to use the Mac to burn CDs as I have an old external 2x
SCSI CD burner. I also want to hook a USB scanner to it. I have a 20G
SCSI HD (not mac) that I would like to get running in/on there as well.
I would like for it to serve web pages and serve FTP if possible. I
want it all.
So what should I be running on this computer? I am looking for the
'ideal' OS version and software to make it the best IIgs periferal
around, plus some.
Thankx,
Ed
