It should not hurt any future endeavors as long as the proper channels are taken. This is why I do any and all purchases with Paypal. If they take your money, then that means they also have a credit card registered with Paypal. You send then money. You wait 45 days. If you have not received the item. You send them an email using the Paypal system informing them that you have not received your item. Do not send a private email. This leaves a paper trail for Paypal to follow.
If they reply, inform them that you need to receive the item within 10 days or your money refunded within 10 days. Send an email every 2 days for the next 10 days. If either request has not been met, then file a grievance with Paypal.
If they do not replay, send an email every 2 days for the next 10 days. At the end of the 10 days, with no replay file a grievance.
Don't forget to request how much money the party owes you including shipping and handling, and you may even request expenses on your end.
This lets you file the grievance before the 60 day deadline.
I have successfully been refunded all monies paid out full and partials, by using this method. Allow 45 days for shipping deadline. Use the next 10 days to contact seller through a witnessed email (not private). File grievance at day 55.
By the way, I have filed 3 grievances and won them all.
