Syndicomm has NEVER had the rights to sell Apple products. If they did, Apple would have given them the .ps master files used to print the manuals. Syndicomm is making $$$ by selling scans of Apple's materials, similar to those people on eBay who are selling ADTPro, Contiki, etc. on disk or CD.
You don't know what you're talking about. Syndicomm legally obtained the rights from the Byte Works when Mike Westerfield decided to close down those operations, and he got them legally from Resource Central. The required legal documents are on file, and the appropriate letter of transfer was faxed to Apple many years ago when I took over. If you think Syndicomm didn't have those rights, you're mistaken.
The reason we didn't have master files is quite simple: APDA did all its printing as photocopies even back when Apple was doing it in-house. Resource Central got its master copies directly from Apple. Indeed, I can show you photos of all the masters provided by Resource Central, which they got directly from APDA -- they're all labeled with Resource Central and APDA labels to this day.
When I took over the job, I scanned all those master copies in and started printing them instead of relying on photocopiers, as it was much more time and cost effective than maintaining an inventory of mounds of photocopies.
Shucks, I still have some of the original inventory left over from Resource Central of some products that nobody ever buys, in their covers.
So, basically, if you think Syndicomm doesn't have the rights, not only are you accusing me Tony and I of being thieves, but you're accusing the Byte Works, Mike Westerfield, Resource Central, and Tom Weishaar of being thieves. And if you're doing that, you're accusing many, many of the biggest names in Apple II history of being liars and cheats.
If you'd like to stick by that story, go for it. But I doubt many people will believe you.
