Supposedly the ROM1 is better as far as compatibility is concerned, but I don't have any specific examples that come to mind. I had the same debate, and eventually settled it by acquiring both a ROM1 and a ROM3. I've got an original CFFA in the ROM1, a CFFA3000 in the ROM3. Both also have a TransWarp GS, 4 MB ram cards and Drew II stereo cards in them. I bought a second CFFA3000 that I had intended to put in the ROM3, but after plugging it into my IIe to play with it first, I've decided it stays where it is. I'll probably buy a 3rd CFFA3000 for the ROM3 at some point assuming that another run is produced. The more I fiddle with that card (especially since installing the latest firmware update), the more I wonder how I ever got along without it.
