Re: TransWarp GS repair questions
you would be surprised how much a funky contact will cause problems in a 20 something year old board
if you want to be more aggressive you could use a nylon scouring pad (green since its common, maroon since its my best friend) BUT! you can go too deep and get into the copper under the plating and 10 years from now it will be really crap, so be gentle.
also just for the record a LA is not the same as a LP, analyzers like the open sniffer, record a limited amount of time, maybe a packet or two, very handy when your trying to decode a ADB keyboard, or serial stream...
A probe is a more passive device, an op amp set up that if the voltage is at or above high level, one LED shines, if its low the other led shines, if its sending a bitstream both will show (well they both switch but you cant see it cause its running at high speed)
so instead of setting a complicated set of conditions and triggers, you can just grab a probe and see if stuff is actually happening on any given pin
