Thanks Geoff, I was aware of that and I did try power cycling the
AsanteTalk bridge a couple of times while the Mac was running. I
always have Netatalk running on my server so it was already up when I
powered on the AsanteTalk bridge. I did notice (and this probably
doesn't help) that when the AsanteTalk is first powered on, the Tx
light flashes about 10 times then stops. The "LI" and power lights
are solid, which tells me that it's linked OK to the main network
switch. And, the bridge is running to the the same switch that I
plugged in my Mac to (which can see the Netatalk server via ethernet)
so I know that the network infrastructure is OK and assuming Netatalk
is also OK.

OK that is interesting. I did also see a post that mentions using a
"patched" version of the AppleShare control panel to fix an
authentication issue on the IIGS, which is detailed here:

For now I'm going to focus on getting this bridge to work with the Mac
since it is easier to deal with. Unfortunately, no success so far.
