"Copy II Plus" is usually the right choice for backing up protected 5.25 disks to other floppies (not to the hard drive though! For that some cracking skills are required). Keep a 7.x as well as a 9.x version of C2+ around.. 7.x sometimes works better for older games, 9.x for newer ones.
