You can certainly use a floppy to boot your ROM 1 and connect to the
network. I have a couple of leads on possible ways to get this to work. One
is to use an older version of the GS/OS, suggested by David Empson, and the
other is to try AppleShare 2 instead of 3, suggested by Jonathan Reed. I
have a copy of that, so maybe I'll give that a try.
BTW, Jonathan confirms that he only had ROM 3 IIgs's to work with when he
wrote the procedure.
