first time owner.. help :)

I just got an Apple LC (which I think is some kind of Apple II) off of a
friend.. great shape except there is no mouse so I need to find one (which
could be tricky since it's the old mac kind I haven't seen in years)..
anyways, I've never owned a mac of any kind before and don't know where to
start with this thing. Can anyone point me to any resources? I just bought
it cause it looked cool and was something to mess around with, and I figure
I could maybe use it for some light word processing by my bed or something
(I really have too many old computers as it is to do much with any of them
:) Maybe a good first start would be to tell me how/if I can transfer data
to and from the LC to my PC (Win XP)... the disks are formatted
differently.. right? :)

oh... and are there like any OS upgrades or anything like that I should
get.. and for that matter how do I go about wiping the HD? :) ...I'm really
lost.. this thing (from what I can tell) won't even let you do anything
without a mouse.
