If you're careful you can STILL use the cable that is on the
transwarp, all you need to do is CAREFULLY solder on to the end of the
connector (disconnect it from the transwarp before you try this) and
extend a few drops of solder from the pin enough to go in the socket.
I've repaired dip chips like this before on the //e and they've always
worked fine.
