the pram battery is fine. it still shows the correct date.
The monitor is a magnavox color rgb 80 which has standard composite inputs (the
audio (not used on apples) and the video input both of which are standard rca
jacks). This is NOT a Apple RGB monitor with the 15 pin cable jack on the back
of it.
I just wonder if the apple 2gs can only show monochrome from the rca jack on
the back of the apple 2gs whereas it will show color when used with a true
Apple RGB monitor with the 15 pin jack on the back.
