There is a demo version that can be downloaded. That's what I am using.

The AppleTalk Control Panel is set to "Ethernet". Other options are "Printer
Port" "Modem Port" and "Remote Only". It does not affect the GS or any other
Apple using the LocalTalk port. I think this is because LocalTalk Bridge is
installed.

I think thats the same as IP sharing. I run Sygate on the PC for this
purpose, but only when I want to allow other PC's/Macs to connects to the
internet. There are plenty of other programs on the PC that can do this too.
On the Mac I have set the TCP/IP control panel with the following settings:
Conect via: Ethernet
Configure: Manually
IP Address: 192.168.0.5 (gives this Mac an address)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 (no idea what this does)
Router Address: 192.168.0.1 (the PC's IP address)
DNS address set to my ISP's DNS server address, use your ISP's setting.
I don't know what DHCP is or how to set up firewalls. There is a DCHP setup
screen on Sygate but I don't know how to set it up. I have never done any
formal network training, only trial and error learning :) + help from
others.

I guess it should work.

Sorry I don't use Netscape, I'm using MSIE 4, only because that's what came
with my Printer software CD ROM. I have also used MacWeb, but that was
directly via Modem, before I got the PC & Mac connected via ethernet.
