With regard to my previous post to Ralph. Yes I did check the speed while it
was connected to the Disk II controller. Everything checks out OK, I used Copy
II Plus, the Apple Dealer Diagnostics and the Verbatim check disks. I think the
drive is Ok I have a feeling that one of the chips on the motherboard is
faulty. The drive does spin up and the head "hunts", but it doesn't read. I
hope it isn't the IWM chip. I have some but am reluctant to start uninformed
"surgery".
