There is a small group of cranks whose only interest in the Apple II
platform is alleged copyright infringement. They clutter up the newsgroup
with inane flamewars and lengthy debates about the technical details of
copyright law, and some vandalize websites and do their best to get ftp
sites shut down. If allowed, they will monopolize the newsgroup and disrupt
its true function, the preservation of the Apple II platform by answering
questions and helping each other.
The only effective way of dealing with them is to ignore them.  I advise all
readers to killfile or block their posts, whatever method works with your
newsreader. For example, using Outlook Express 5, just select a post from an
offender and select "Message" at the top of the application, then "Block
Sender" from the drop down menu. That's it! The effect of this over time is
that the net kooks get ignored, which is like putting salt on a slug. It's a
death sentence, because net kooks thrive on attention. I cheerfully
encourage them to block my posts too, I'd prefer that our universes never
share any space.

Some messages take a while to arrive, and some never do. I'd advise against
using cat droppings in your garden, though. Too toxic.
