I found out you just add them in pairs, starting from the front of the card
and working toward the back. ie add 1 to the top row and 1 to the bottom.
This adds 256K at a time as you rightly pointed out.

That wouldn't work... or are two of the pins unused in the 256K chip. Even
if that was the case the other pins would have to be tied to stop them
floating.

Would you believe I scrounged up just enough chips today to fill it to max.
I now have 4992K max RAM disk on the Control Panel. Unfortunately my PC
Transporter is looking a bit naked now. :(

Well as I have a few of those AE Expander versions I'll try it out, thanks.
I think the ones I have are for the IIe only, like the RamWorks series, so I
may not have it. So far I've tried bit-banger with no luck, but then I think
some of the chips are not 100% compatable. I've used the built in
diagnostics with partial success, but I don't know if it checks RAM on the
card. Anyone know ?
