Try to boot up System 6.0.1 on the /system floppy disk that comes with
6.0.1. Or you could possibly use 6.0 or 5.02 or 5.04. See if the Vulcan
drive appears on the desktop and try a disk verify to see how healthy the
drive is. As those drives are a little old now you may be dealing with a
damaged HDD (not easy or cheap to replace _IF_ you can find one). My Vulcan
40 died on me about a month ago, prior to that it had 400+ bad blocks marked
by a BAD.BLOCKS file.
If the drive passes that test I would reload the system software clean by
running the /INSTALL floppy disk etc that comes with 6.0.1. That is best
done after re-formatting the HDD. Obviously save any valuable files first.
