Actually you don't need a card to use four 3.5" drives(as long as 2 of them
are 3.5" UniDisks) on the IIgs. I used to install system 6 by hooking two
platinum 3.5"drives and three 3.5" UniDisk drives to the smart port so I
wouldn't have to swap disks. Apple used to recomend a maximun of two
3.5" platinum, two 3.5" UniDisks and two 5.5" drives to the smartport.
At the time I was figuring that one 3.5 can't be worse worse power draw
wise than two 5.25" drives.
