Networking a IIgs...

Okay, things are getting less busy at work, and I am getting increasingly
frustrated by my inability to transfer files between computers at work as
the old 800k-compatible Macintoshes head for retirement.

So here's what I have at my disposal:

o A ROM-1 Apple IIgs with 1.25Mb RAM and a 20Mb Focus drive.
o A Windows '95 box with a spare serial port and an Ethernet connection.

Yeah, right, I can hook up a null-modem and transfer files that way,
though it's a little tricky 'cause quite frankly, the Windows comm
programs I have available are pretty awful.

But this is 2001. There now exists a TCP/IP stack for the IIgs, and I
ought to be able to FTP files at least between the Windoze box and the
IIgs, maybe even from the 'Net. It would sure make my life simpler!

Trouble is, everything I've seen for Windows that allows for network
bridging makes the (in this case erroneous) assumption that the remote
network connection comes in via PPP and shares out via Ethernet. I want
to do just the opposite...to connect the IIgs to the PC via PPP, with the
PC connected to the campus network via Ethernet.

Am I making sense here? Is there hope? Any suggestions? I know it has
to be technically possible, but then.......
