You're correct -- the PC has to act as a file server. Miramar continue
to develop MacLAN which does peer-to-peer services which will appear to
the IIgs as an AppleShare server. As far as I know, MacLAN is the only
Windows product that will do this.
You will also be constrained to using Windows 3.1x (for the free
version of MacLAN) or Windows 95/98/Me (for the commercial version).
LocalTalk cards and Windows NT4/2000 aren't a successful combination in
my experience.
