Re: Arghhhh with PC--->Apple over Null Modem Cable

Thanks for the replies !!

The reason I have a 400 meg zip file is that I d/l'ed the Asimov Archive,
unzipped everything on the PC, re-zipped it as a self-extracting executable
and than wanted to transfer ONE file via the null modem cable (instead of
4,000 !!).

While reading through the replies (some of them were pretty neat! - it seems
there's more than one way to skin a cat) I realized one of my concerns: the
//GS will not self-extract the file as it's a PC binary. So......

To make a long story short, I think the best way will be to burn a CD in the
right ISO format and pirchase a good used CD player for the //GS. I'm having
trouble getting one! Anyone have a nice & mint CDSC Plus or CD-150 they want
to part with?

As far as the burner goes, I can borrow a buddies. This solution beats the
null modem cable idea. I tried that using a cobbled together cable with
around 6 or 7 adapters to join the beasties together, but no dice.

Thanks again for all the replies!
Best;
Marvin
