Re: Building An Apple ][ Software Archive
I have to agree about being spoiled by ProDos. Even worse is being spoiled
by GSOS. Lately, I have been trying to get back to that original feeling
I used to get during those late night 2c sessions back in my early II
days. I remember having a lot of fun playing with the old Dos. I have a
few of the PD disks and at least one has a Dos launcher which works very
well. I also have some Dos variants for both 5.25 and 3.5 disks to help
me out now. Back then I used my Zram card a lot for fooling with the files
I found of use.
I also remember, while teaching myself about 6502 assembly I used some of
the early II assemblers and didn't have access to the Dos assembler until
later days.
Yeah, lots of good memories. While I enjoy using the GS and am slowly
learning to program via toolboxes, I miss the old days when I was
programming via the built in assembler and hacking routines I found.
