I'm not sure about that but I do know that all the SHK or BXY files
I've seen encoded as BINscii files have had BSQ extensions. Mind you
BXY (ShrinkIt file in a Binary II wrapper) files shouldn't be encoded
with BINscii as the BINscii format will retain filename, file types,
dates and such so the Binary II wrapper on the ShrinkIt file is
redundant.
As BSC is used as the extension for a straight BINscii file, we can't
really use that to denote a ShrinkIt file encoded with BINscii. It is
possible that the BSQ extension is used to describe a Binscii encoded
SQueezed file where squeezed simply means compressed as opposed to the
actual Squeeze compression format. It may also be a tribute to the
BQY file format (one or more files that have been compressed and given
a QQ extension and all put into a single file with a Binary II
wrapper) that hasn't been used for a very long time.
By the way, I've never seen a file with an SQ extension. Is that an
Apple II compression format that I've missed over the years?
