Which LC do you recommend?

I have an Apple IIe card for and LC, and I was looking at the manual and it
doesn't say anything about which LC model it works in. I know that each
model was slightly different than the last but will this card work in each
model?

Primarily, I want to use the LC for downloading non .dsk files from A2 FTP
sites, and then converting them to working diskettes, or transferring them,
via localtalk directly to me A2e. Is the LCIII a better choice for this than
the original LC or LCII?
