Re: caller id?



Unfortunately, to read that data, a standard modem would already have to be
off hook (meaning the line would be busy and not ring in the first place)
and the terminal would have to be ready. There is no way to do what he
wanted, ie: re-engineer his terminal software to act as a caller id
terminal. If he's willing to buy a new modem, there are some that have the
id feature. That would send the number to the terminal along with the usual
"ring" message.
