     Thanks, me too, kind of. Actually, (after a re-read) the original
question seems to hit both aspects 3.5" drive recognition:

Q: How come the diskette I put into Drive 2 does not show up?
A: Because the particular OS does not mount enough volumes to include it.

Q: How come no 3.5" diskette drive icons showup?
A: Because there is no 3.5" diskette drive icon.


     You may wonder how one comes to know that there is no 3.5" drive icon.
Easy. One experiments with an olde "ProDOS 16" System, has problems getting
the second 3.5" drive to show up, and spends nearly hour looking through
assorted icon files before remembering the old System limits on mounted
volumes!
