That's good.  But there are some practical difficulties involved:
countries do have *very* different cultures.  And we also have all
those different languages of the world -- there are a few thousand.
So what appears like perfectly understandable reading to one person
may appear like incomprehensible line noise to another person.
 
Also: only a minority of the world's population is hooked up to
the Internet.  Most of the people of the world haven't even used a
regular telephone.... the idea of "One world" is of course the goal,
but we're far from there yet.

Some 10 years ago there was a BBS in Stockholm named "Apple II forever",
whcih actually ran on an Apple II !!!!
