Re: Found some oldies

Yes, Linux is definitely the word.

To keep this slightly on topic, I think Linux/PC is the best
peripheral I have for my Apple II's. But my bragging point; today
I was upgrading my Redhat system to use some of the new 6.2 beta
files. Due to changes, it was not a simple job and I wound up
having to use one console with X and the GnoRpm system updater.
Another console as root for miscellaneous file manipulations while
yet another console was running X and netscape to download
whatever files I needed. The files were downloaded via a program
similar to Gozilla which handles multiple file downloads. Anyone
familiar with Linux will know how big many of these files can be.
And all of this with very little noticeable loss of speed to any of
the different consoles.

Let's see MS Win or even Mac OS do that!

BTW, I really do use Linux for my Apple. I store all my backups
there. Now if only it had ethernet access.

Have you fed your Apple today?

Phoenyx's Pages are back online...

I have setup a quick ZIPTO link which you guys
can use to branch to my pages no matter where
on the Internet they reside. Hopefully they
won't be relocated after I move them to our
new web host. So remember, don't link your
bookmarks to the actual web pages, just copy
the link below into the link location for the
bookmark you have setup in your favorite web
browser.
