CiderPress tends to slurp the entire disk image into memory and keep
it there until you're done with it. This is true whether you've got a
gzipped 2IMG or a raw ProDOS file.
So long as you open/close the image in CiderPress every time you do
anything, you'll probably be okay (unless the emulator is *also*
holding some or all of the image in memory). I never did add an "open
recent" feature, so frequent open/close isn't as convenient as it
could be.
