I believe that when trying to trouble shoot a hardware problem, it is best
to remove as many variables as possible. So, the tests conducted so far
have been in Applesoft Basic. 

As I've said before, the Printer.Test program that ships with Harmonie 
simply performs a text dump. If that test fails, it indicates a hardware 
problem, or more specifically, a problem with the port.

So, something is amiss with the Grappler, but I don't know if it's the 
card itself or the cable, and to be honest, the gentleman I'm trying to 
assist through e-mail is a computer neophyte, and so the details are not 
forthcoming. 

Bev...this is one of those problems that you or I could diagnose in about 
2 seconds...if we had our hands on the hardware. But, that's not a 
possibility.

For all I know, the guy could have inserted the Grappler with the power 
on. Or, the used Grappler he bought was DOA.
