     I've sent and received lots of stuff through the US postal service with no
problem. Unless the monitors you're getting have very delicate cases, maybe you
should consider filing a USPS service complaint.

     Our monitor dates back to the early days and it shows no signs of
brittleness. Plastic does become brittle if exposed for long periods to
sunlight and/or heat. (For a monitor case to become exceptionally brittle from
sunlight it would probably show discoloration.) To become very brittle from
heat would probably require running the monitor in cramped quarters for a few
years.

     Where are these monitors coming from?
