They Hyper C compiler system has some capability, the
newer interpreters use the 65816 or 65802 processors and
makes for a nice increase in program speed.

I think a couple of versions of the Lisa assembler also
support coding for this.

At one time Applied promised an OS specifically for the
16 bit enhancements and their memory expansion cards
but they never delivered. Too bad, it would have been
an excellent enhancement for my Zram //c system.

If you can find one, your best bet is the 65802 cpu. It is
pin compatable with the 6502/65c02 and offers some of
the benefits of the 16 bit system. It will speed up Hyper C
programs with the 16 bit interpreter. Unfortunately, most
software is not coded to take advantage of the benefits.
Hmmm, maybe time for some new software. Perhaps we
should get more of the programmers together and see if
we could develop something. Of course it would have to
be set up similiar the the GNU development methods
used on the PC, else we would wind up just spinning our
wheels.

Ok, I'll just jump down off my soapbox. Just thought to
remind ya'll that if we want something new and great,
we'll have to communicate, coordinate and cooperate. :-)
