Give it up?  No, that's not how 12 step type programs work with the Apple
II's...it goes:

 1.  Apple II
 2.  Apple II+
 3.  Apple IIe
 4.  Apple IIe (with built-in numeric keypad)
 5.  Apple IIc
 6.  Apple IIc+
 7.  Apple IIGS (Rom 1)
 8.  Apple IIGS (Rom 3)
 9.  Apple IIe/c emulator on your favorite new machine
10.  Apple IIGS emulator on your favorite new machine
11.  Collect as much hardware as possible for steps 1-10
12.  Collect as much software as possible for steps 1-11

You have now completed the Apple II 12 step program.  :-)
