In the early years there were lots of unique gadgets which
never quite caught on. Some due to price, others due to
bad design and/or hardware changes in the industry. It's
highly possible this drive was manufactured for a specific
purpose and thus limited in it's merchantability. Is there a
tag or something similar with a date on it?
