I'm a long time Mac user who picked up a IIgs at a thrift store for $3. I'm
working on getting the Apple memory card so I can boot GS/OS. I became
interested when I found that this OS is Mac-like and decided to add the machine
to my collection. Read a bunch of FACS and learned: I have ROM 01; I need more
memory to boot GS/OS; the machine does boot dos 3.3.
I'm using a NTSC monitor off the RCA jack. When I try my Apple "Macintosh 12"
RGB display" I get "smeared" characters - I can see that there is text
displayed but can't read it.

Many composite monitors, especially color composite monitors, will look
blurred at higher resolutions. For a IIgs RGB monitor at a reasonable price
