Greetings all,
A friend of mine gave me his software collection and I had a great find.
Good ole GBBS Pro it is version 1.3j. I used to program that system when I
was a youngin'.
Nonetheless, here are my three questions:
1) Is 1.3j the latest version number? If not, where can I get the latest
version? Or an someome supply me with it?
2) He gave me the manual as well, but a lot of the pages are missing, does
anyone know where I can get the manual for GBBS?
I would have replyed to you in E-mail, but your address is messed up so as not
to get spammed I'm sure and no address was in the message.
I own the rights to GBBS and the latest version that is for release is 1.3j.
There is a newer one, but due to a lot of work related problems with my job and
my tester taking his time it is not ready. GBBS can work with Fruity Dog to
allow it to get usenet posts and mail, but not real time. I believe and can be
interfaced to work with the net if yu had another machine; either a MAC or
heaven forbid an Windows machine. You would have to run another BBS program
that is made for working as a mini IP and use a doors program to link to GBBS.
I had a SysOp who had worked on it, but I don't know what ever came of it and
have lost contact with him when he took his board down.
As to a manual, I have a few of them left and will let you have the pages for
coping costs plus postage, or if you need the whole thing, then costs plus
postage. E-mail me at applelite1ATaolDOTcom, don't reply to the post as the
box is blocked. You can call my system at te number listed in the signature at
the end. Who did you get the program from so I can update my records. It maybe
a bit as I'm on a job site away from home.
Apple Elite II 909-359-5338. Home of GBBS/LLUCE, support for the
Apple II and Macintosh 24 hours 2400/14.4. An OggNet Server.
The only good spammer is a dead one, have you hunted one down today? (c)
