Andy,

Does the NT appleshare server speak ProDOS AFP protocol? If not, that
could be a problem.

I coded ProDOS AFP support into netatalk several years ago. Make sure
you grab Adrian Sun's netatalk variant which includes this (and other)
fixes/enhancements. The address is:

ftp://ftp.u.washington.edu/public/asun

Other things to consider:

- The FastPath 4 had at least two major EPROM code revisions. Take a
look at the two socketed ROMs, and that'll tell you whether it's v4.x
or (preferably) 5.1.

- There were also two different FP4 configuration programs, which
probably will only run on older 68k Macs. It's theoretically possible
that a reset-defaulted FP will work properly, but I've never had much
success.

Shiva are a collection of horse's rear-ends, and will not provide any
support or documentation on the FPs. If you need any copies of the
setup software (or EPROM images), please contact me privately.
